Today is a proud for Camaro enthusiasts, as production of the all-new sixth-generation Camaro has begun this week at GM’s Grand River plant in Lansing, Michigan. With over a year in the making, the sixth-generation Camaro has received a total investment of one hundred and seventy five million dollars to fast-track production, according to WLNS6.

While production did begin this week, we can expect to see the first ’16 Camaro roll off the assembly line as early as this Monday, at the beginning of November. What’s even more exciting however, is that special dealerships across the country will receive a demo model for enthusiasts to review, possibly even test drive, and place orders for the all-new Camaro. Although GM only plans to release one-hundred new Camaros as demo vehicles to dealerships across the country, you can expect to see these vehicles on the showroom floor as early as the end of next month.

With production of the sixth-generation Camaro now underway, the Grand River plant in Lansing, Michigan, is looking to fill more than five-hundred available positions. For the first time since May of this year, GM will be opening a second production line at the plant, to accommodate the production goals for the all-new Camaro.

We’re all aware of the ’16 Camaro’s price tag, and that the new SS model will be powered by the Corvette’s LT1 V8 engine, but how will the new 1LT V6 and turbocharged inline-four variations compare to the competition?
