Check out our “highs and lows” on the new sixth gen Camaro here.
Over the decades, the Camaro has earned a reputation for high-performance at blue collar pricing.
Production on the all-new Camaro only started less than a month ago at GM’s Grand River plant in Lansing, Michigan. However, orders are flying in so fast, that GM dealerships nationwide are having trouble keeping up with the demand. While a few of the first models have been delivered, many are still waiting for their cars. We were fortunate enough to be able to drive and review a ’16 Camaro 1LT during GM’s Find New Roads campaign.
Many dealerships across the nation have reached out to Edmunds regarding the arrival of the all-new Camaro. Many of the dealerships have said that they’re eagerly waiting to fill orders which have been placed. One of the biggest selling points of the new Camaro SS is the new powerplant and transmission – both of which shared with the C7 Corvette.
The principles of the Camaro have always brought in a flux of first time purchasers, and the sixth generation Camaro won’t be any different. This is even more prevalent when you consider the 274 horsepower base model turbocharged inline-four equipped Camaro, which is due to ship at the beginning of March of next year. That car will be the most fuel efficient Camaro to date.
With all of the new technology that the sixth generation Camaro brings – having options such as cylinder deactivation on the V6 and V8 models, magnetic ride control, and an impressive 8-speed automatic transmission option, will undoubtedly drive Camaro sales for GM – especially in regards to first time Camaro owners.
