The Stingray Corvette was among the baddest machine of its time, but unfortunately, almost forty years of time has put its technology behind just a little bit. Not to mention, it was produced at the beginning of the infamous oil crunch, which makes it all the less relevant as far as power goes.

How does one go about solving this dilemma? Simple, just drop an LS1 in it! The owner of this particular 1973 Vette decided to do just that. The original power plant was swapped out with a nicely modified LS1 pulled from a ’98 Vette. Not only was the new engine backed up with a T56 and 4:11 gears, but just about everything else (aside from the ancient suspension) was redone or replaced along with it. For example, a considerable amount of creature comforts have been added. Not only does it have a leather interior pulled from a z06, but it also boasts power steering and air conditioning systems as well. According to some of the uploader’s other videos, next up on the “To Do List” is a navigation system and a set of custom gauges to compliment the rest of the car’s updated theme.

Now that this C3 is strapped up with a reported $60k in the latest equipment, it is ready to go down the strip, on a road trip, or do anything that the owner sees fit. It’ll sure do it a lot better than it would have in 1973!
