Last month, Vengeance Racing recently ran a hand full of Corvettes at a sanctioned 1/2-mile event, at an almost majestic looking strip known as Heaven’s Landing Airport in Georgia.
Owned by Ron Mowen, Vengeance Racing out of Cumming, Georgia is a highly reputable company with a list of rubber-burning cars to prove it. With over 12,000 sq. ft. of shop space, five lifts, a DynoJet dynamometer and a clean room for engine building; they will make your car dreams a reality. Vengeance offers tuning services, bolt-on installations, race preparation, power adders, complete engine builds and more.
The 1/2-mile private runway shootout was put on by wannaGOFAST and consisted of 2 days of side-by-side racing down the landing strip with a full 5,069 feet of running room. While all five cars held “fastest car of the day” for at least one day in their respective classes, two Corvettes ran through the trap at over 200mph.
The first car, owned and driven by Mike Bramati, coming in at 203mph was the fastest RWD(Rear Wheel Drive) car on Saturday. Sunday’s fastest RWD car of the day went to a Corvette owned by Randy Hunter, and was driven by Ron Mowen up to 201mph.
While no concrete claims are being made at this point, it is believed that these two cars are the first two Vettes to break the 200mph mark in a sanctioned 1/2-mile event… which pending a confirmation, would currently make them the two fastest Corvettes in the world!
